Lend Me a Tenor
Thought I was going to be more-or-less sitting on my hands until “Frozen” remounts in November, but then I get an email from Chris Adams saying, “Hey, I’m directing ‘Lend Me a Tenor’ in August and I keep hearing the main character’s lines in your voice. Would you be interested?” Well, how could I say no?
I’m playing Max, and I’m sweating buckets through the whole show, slamming doors and panting like a dog, living out a non-stop panic. It’s all BIG FEELINGS, all of the time, and it’s exhausting. But I haven’t played the lead in anything for about seven years now and I’m determined to squeeze every drop of potential from this part. Hopefully it doesn’t kill me.
It’s a rip-roaring farce, but only NINE performances left (I should really post these things sooner, oh well). It’s down at the Metro Theatre in Vancouver—a little out of the way but well worth the trip!
