The Sound of Music 2022

I’m back playing Max Detweiler in the Arts Club’s big family-friendly holiday musical, The Sound of Music!

This remount of a production we did three years ago (I will venture to say) is even better this time around. We’ve got some new leads bringing fresh energy to the piece, namely Chelsea Rose and Damien Atkins playing Maria and Captain von Trapp respectively (both are fabulous). Plus, me and the other returning actors got to further explore the scenes in rehearsal, finding juicier flavours and clearer angles. It’s a good time, and I get to sing two songs no one knows because they’re not in the movie—which, at the sing-along performance we had the other night, was pretty sad-hilarious, to coin a phrase.
